HEIMA

This was the beginning of a series of installations and experiments at the artist’s collective, HEIMA in Seyðisfjörður, Iceland.

I combined the highly ordered, static and structural forms of the platonic solids and their elemental significance with video shot in the local environment corresponding to the elemental forms. The boundaries between flowing water and static rock formations were of particular importance, as highlighted by the interplay of static and time based media. This piece drew directly from the environment, with the aim to pry beneath the surface of the landscape to gain insight into it's underlying structural nature.
